The Global Research Institute is a world-class think tank right here in Chapel Hill. They engaged Slice Interactive to build a new website that was professional and easy to maintain and update. The site had to adhere to all UNC web guidelines. It was built in WordPress and is hosted though the University’s huge WordPress multisite installation.

Housing Initiative Partnership in Maryland hired Slice Interactive to overhaul their web presence. In addition to a website redesign, we worked together to build new sections that reflect the many different aspects of their organization. Users can now sign up and pay online for events, view current real estate listings, submit rental applications, and view slideshows of HIP’s programs. HIP employees have complete access to the content and update it regularly to reflect current offerings. They keep track of online payments and class registrations all through our custom web application.

In addition, the entire site is viewable in English and Spanish to reflect their diverse audience.

Spring Lake 5

The Spring Lake Five Mile Run is a popular event at the Jersey Shore. Slice Interactive overhauled their existing web presence by taking advantage of a pre-designed WordPress theme. This kept their costs down, but provided a beautiful template to highlight the details of the annual race.

Just Tryan It

Slice Interactive was hired to bring Just Tryan It to life online. The website includes information about the annual kids triathlon as well as the corresponding fundraising efforts to support Georgetown University Hospital’s Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Unit Family Assistance Fund. Users can also see an online slideshow that is updated from Just Tryan It’s own account with the Picassa photo sharing site. This site was built in WordPress and it takes advantage of many plugins and widgets that are widely available and a cinch to manage.

Acorn Hill

Acorn Hill is a preschool in Silver Spring, Maryland which adheres to the Waldorf Educational Philosophy. They hired Slice Interactive to revamp their website. Their new website is built using WordPress, giving the administrator full control over the content at all times. Acorn Hill prides themselves on their diverse student body and their principles based on healthy childhood development in a natural environment. The new design mirrors these principles and evokes both nature and nurture.

DC Style Factory

Rosana started a personal stylist business in the Washington, DC area and needed a logo and website for her new endeavor. We created the branding materials and built the site in a matter of weeks! She updates the site using WordPress and has been growing her business steadily since its inception.

Grau Building

Grau Building is a new home builder based in Chapel Hill, NC. They wanted a new website to reflect the changing nature of their business and to represent the outstanding customer service that they pride themselves on. Slice Interactive built the website in conjunction with Adobe Contribute so that they can easily edit and maintain the site going forward. Slice also implemented a Client Extranet which is integral to their day to day operations.

Saint Luke Kids

Saint Luke Christian Day School is a preschool in Silver Spring, MD. They hired Slice Interactive to build a website for the school and were so pleased that we were soon working to overhaul 3 other related websites. The design was inspired by a favorite children’s book. The site features both static pages and a blog for news updates. The photo gallery is automatically updated from Picasa.

Mason’s Heritage

Mason’s Heritage is an organic grain farm in Maryland. They needed a new logo and a website to reflect their growing produce market business. The goal for this site was a simple reflection of their business and life principles: fresh, local, welcoming, and sustainable.

Hide The Cheese

Hide the Cheese is a blog about cooking and eating. Slice Interactive helped the author get set up with Typepad (an online blogging tool). We created templates for her to easily update the site herself. We created corresponding print materials to help promote the blog. The photo on the left is a postcard designed by Slice.

Black Ankle Vineyards

The partnership between Black Ankle Vineyards and Slice Interactive goes back many years. The website was initially focused on the planning stages of their vineyard. It has grown to highlight the top-quality wine that Black Ankle produces and the many events they host in their gorgeous tasting room.

In addition to designing and building the website, Slice Interactive has produced many marketing materials including brochures, postcards, business cards, banners, and shelf talkers for in-store wine sales. We were also early consultants on the designs for the logo and the wine labels.

Glee Kids

Glee is a children’s clothing store in Chapel Hill. Slice Interactive created the e-commerce site using Yahoo Merchant Solutions. We tweaked the out-of-the-box template considerably to achieve the desired look and feel. Even the folks at Yahoo were impressed and featured this site as an example of how you do not have to be locked into their templates.
